An innovative Minecraft construction... in the Steampunk style!
An incredibly talented team of Minecraft builders, known as The Aderlyon Build team, recently completed a massive floating Steampunk metropolis surrounded by a fleet of gigantic airships and Victorian-style buildings. The fantastic construction occupies an 800 by 800 area densely filled with amazing structures. The project, which is one of the team's largest creations, took the talented architects seven months to complete. Even more amazing is the fact that the team's editors were able to compress the months-long work into about ten minutes of timelapse video. Plus, getting a close-up look at the floating metropolis might help novice players establish their own building style and learn a trick or two from Minecraft's master builders.
Here is the video. Enjoy!
The project features ingenious design solutions, such as a gigantic piece of railroad with houses on wheels or a huge clock face that overlooks the entire Steampunk city.
Steampunk City is inspired by the iconic American urban areas of New York and Chicago. It features colossal bridges, towering skyscrapers and complex environments. The project feels like an homage to the island of Manhattan with all the tall buildings and busy streets.
Steampunk City is for free on Minecraft
The Aderlyon Build team offers building services for those who want to order ready-made solutions, but Steampunk City is free for everyone to download from Planet Minecraft.
It is actually very common for Minecraft builders to offer their impressive projects for sale. One group of enterprising players, for example, does just that by creating specific structures on demand for money. The team has a pretty impressive portfolio, and one of the biggest projects is a huge recreation of DanMachi's Orario city, which occupies a 1500 by 1500 area in a Minecraft world. Not everything is done by hand, which is understandable given the scale. The team often relies on outside editors, at least when it comes to landscaping.
Another example of impressive dedication in the popular crafting game was shown by another Minecraft player who spent three years single-handedly building a huge modern city, called "The North Americain Metropolis".
